I feel your pain bro. Start typing your artist beware and joural review now ahead of time so the feelings are fresh and its ready to post when the time comes. Ill be putting a journal together for you too so everyone knows what you have been through.
what your experiencing is not uncommon. In a professional environment if whats happening to you took place in the buisness world heads would roll and im some cases legal action would be taken.

Wheat ill leave you with is a reminder. The most valuable thing someone has is their reputation. Whats funny about that is THEIR reputation doesny belong to them. It belongs to everyone else because that reputation exists in the minds of others. Buisness talk: " it takes a long time to establish a good reputation but just a moment to lose it"
This artists reputation belongs to you and all of your friends, its public property. And as payment for your time we will be taking their reputation as payment.

x..x;; As I said before, this is -exactly- why I -never- ask for payment up front, and I always inform people if I think an idea will be difficult for me to do. Last thing I wanna do is piss someone off cause my motivation vanishes, or cause it turns out something was harder then I thought...and I feel pressured to finish it now and then half-ass it.

Anyways, I hope whatever is late turns up soon :c I'm sorry that you're having this experience with content creators. You'd think they'd at least keep you up to date with a sort of 'here's what's going on...'

If this is in relation to commissions I feel for you, I was left waiting a year for one commissions and 2 years for another, all the while the artist kept taking more commissions. My partner has been waiting 5 years and has only gotten line art!

It is a big problem...and its absolutely FOUL behavior. Intentional or unintentional, it is Unacceptable.

Sadly some artists believe themselves above such things as common decency

I know your pain! I've been waiting over a year on icons and some badges.

When it comes to commissions it also scares you, you think "What if the artist has just taken my money and completely forgot?" "What if they just dont do it?" I'm sure that you've felt like this a lot with the amount of time that you have waited for things buddy. Dont feel down though, if you ever need to talk/discuss/rant about things, you have always got your friends to help, especially me!

You don't know me, but I certainly can empathize with your situation. I just went through having a commission fall through with an artist on a different site because they weren't comfortable with actually producing the piece requested. They saw the description, saw the refs and approved the project before going silent for over three months. Considering the amount of money involved, I'd figure I could count on them keeping in touch with me, but no. They finally fessed up that it was beyond what they felt their skill level would allow, but by then my money was already spent. So now I'm waiting for them to muster up the money needed to refund me and I'm just kinda shaking my head. Were they not a friend of a friend I'd be less hush hush about who they are and all that.

Hang in there. I'm sorry you're having to go through this. Experiences like this make it nerve wracking to take the plunge and commission people.
