I know I wanted to make art my life choice, but honestly I dont care if I dfree art now and then and that means I wont get as many commissioners. I am told over and over again you need this or that to run proffessionally and work as a freelancer. However, it really kills the fun and love of drawing.
I would much rather be able to make people happy and excited and have fun with my watchers about the thing we all loved about art. SInce I've come to FA i've made some amazing friends, and sure I dont admit to having planned out all the professional stuff i need to be an adult.
But I'll fumble along barley making deadlines if it means I can have a little time just to have fun with my friends andput a smile on some faces.
I get it, some people only come to streams cause they get something, and alot of people look down on that, but I hope they had a fun time being there with me doing it.
all im saying is I cant be the big proffessional artist people want me to be, I supose I dont have a gold star saying you can trust me or I wont be a little behind on deadlines or sometimes things will come up.
When i grew up wanting to draw, I did it because i wanted to make people as excited as I was watching my cartoon shows and share a little something i loved with outher people.
So i may be doing it the 'wrong' way. But imma keep doing it the fun way.

FA+

More +watch's = More likely commissioners
how hard is that for people to understand, yeah some are only here for free stuff (Guilty till i have some actual money) but that doesn't mean they all are
Also sorry I haven't been on your streams a lot lately, but hope to do so sometime!
Psh, if you were miserable I'd say THAT would be wrong! You keep doin you. c:
You do it how it works best for you, you're the one who's going to be doing it after all.
People love free things, and people with money usually love free things, but offer to pay at some point. I'd love to commission you once I have the money. Sadly, I get paid bi-weekly and lots of it goes to other things, but like I said, free art equals a larger audience coverage, and that will put you in the starlight for the long run.
Hope all is well, and just do what makes YOU happy! If drawing for free gives you a fuzzy feeling, keep doing it... But do it for you, not to make everyone else happy.
Much love from this bunnybutt!
Yeah, sadly there are going to be people out there who are going to be impatient with you on day 2 but you
stil do the commissions and try to get them all done. You're doing fine so far and i think some people
expected the commissions to be done on the day you open them.
I guess people expect every artist to be professional because they only see them as the artist and not as a person who
wants to chill and relax, and do some freebie art in their spare time.
By doing the freebies you make new friends and new arts~
Sometimes the commissions we get don't motivated the artist to draw and freebies help out with art blocks, boredom; and yes they do make people smile to see their characters in another person style ;w;.
You're also getting your name out there as well by doing these freebies.
-drops mic- chezey out
That's like saying it's wrong to have friends who can't afford to buy you pizza
theres not only one single way to do stuff
I know a ton of professional artists in todays industries who do stuff like that because it's fun to do and makes them happy. They also have gallery exhibitions and do commissioned work. Most of them look at free work as something fun and relaxing because there are less constraints about what needs to happen with it. No one's paying for it so you can do what you want!
YOU DO YOU JOOJOO. You're a great artist and anyone who wants to be a dick about it can shove off.
