As for fair prices and such, it really depends on what you personally think is fair. A lot of people like rather low people (including myself, since I am poor XD), but it really depends on what you, the artist, needs money wise. You know, enough to get the things you need and such. ^^

For prices, it depends on what you think your quality of work/time spent on work is worth. Cheaper prices will get more people but obviously won't bring in much money. A lot of artists charge lower prices for sketches and flats, then higher prices for multiple characters and/or full color/shading.
Maybe ask yourself "What would I pay for my work?"

You definitely deserve all of the... YOUR ICON BLINKS! GAH! Sorry... Um... What I was trying to say is that you deserve all of your watchers, because your art is awesome!

Personally I don't have a lot of money at this point, so I think I would be willing to spend probably $25 for a single character, and a little more for a detailed background. I honestly think you could charge more if you wanted, because your art is good, but I know a lot of people are in the same money boat as me.

Something you could maybe try to see what other people are willing to pay is a 'pay what you want' thing. Put a minimum on it, so you don't get ripped off, and then see what people are willing to spend. Maybe also ask in that for the people that are broke at the time to tell you what they would pay if they had money right then.

I may also have no clue what I'm talking about, but I hope that helps. x3
