Today was amazing for me!

So I was walking the mall with some friends just being out weird selves and one of them sees a old man with a cap that said ( ww2 veteran ) on it. He know how much of a historian I am and told me about him. So I went over and we started talking to him. Turned out he was a US soldier who was part of the D day invasion. He even carried the proof with him. He met his wife in Germany after the war was over. Sadly she died many years ago. He was just such a humble old man. I eventually shook his hand and thanked him for everything. This is where it gets really interesting. He calls for me to wait and as I turn around he skook my hand with a smile. He told me that I was the only one who stopped and even thanked him for his service ( don't you love people? ) He smiled as I shook his hand again and thanked him for everything he had gone through to protect his country.
So I left him their smiling feeling oddly humble about the whole thing.

Show your vets some respect! They are a dieing generation. Show then the respective they reserve no matter what side they fought on.
