need help with 13hd cintiq
10 years ago
UPDATE: kirarifox started having the same problem after they installed the new driver. they figured out it was the latest driver that was the problem, so I installed an older one and it works just fine now ;w; i'm so glad and thankful!!!
So, I just got a cintiq yesterday and had been messing with it. It works great really!! But as expected, I did run into a few problems.
I'm using the cintiq as an extended 2nd display, a separate screen. Whenever I draw in sai, it starts out normal, but after drawing for a while my cursor starts to delay and lag behind in comparison to the speed my hand draws. So the strokes end up coming out really slow. Usually happens severely after I switch to desktop or another window, then go back to sai. It's only slow in sai. All my other art programs are fine and the cursor's speed goes back to normal when i switch to another window too. When I used my bamboo, this wasn't a problem.
I was told dual screening wasn't for the cintiq, but it's strange it's just sai that messes up when i have dual screen on. I sorta found a solution, but I have to use only one screen (or duplicate instead of extend). It doesn't delay anymore, but honestly, i'd like to be able to dual screen LOL but if there's no solution then oh well.
My other problem is Clip Studio Paint. It has no pen pressure at all with the cintiq, despite my other art programs working fine with pressure.
Any help would be appreciated (' - ` It's a 13hd cintiq pen and touch display, not a companion.

TabletCursorMode = 0
TabletMouseSimulation = 1
These are the settings I need for a non-wacom second screen, so it might not be the same (iirc I think cintiqs need to switch the settings the other way?) Just remember to close and reopen SAI whenever you change the setting to test.
SAI runs its own tablet drivers and doesn't really know how to handle everything at once.
(also I hope you're running SAI 1.2 (ie the not-free one?) from the official site? It's the only one that works properly with multi-screening)
Myself and a couple other artists I know were more or less forced to upgrade when we changed out our tablets and multiscreened;;; 1.1 works for only one other multi-screener I know, and they have an Intuos3 which might be the key. Version 1.1 is about 7 years old, while 1.2 came out this past April iirc. ...wait, a year ago this past April.
I'm doing google searches but nothing truly matches and all the solutions are everywhere with no pattern to them... Mouse problems, refresh rate problems, zoom problems, 'everything fixes with a fresh uninstall and reinstall of your drivers', and the like.
tbh a complete reinstall of the tablet drivers seems to be the best "normal" solution but ....? I mean, you did uninstall your previous tablet's drivers, right? (*insert story about how it took me two hours to get the cursor to respond to my Yinova* here)
Thanks for trying to help anyway! I think I've pretty much covered enough for me to just suck it up and keep to one screen
Not enough memory/power seems strange since you said you were dual-mirroring before? I didn't realize the cintiq was a heavy burden, I thought it was just a (Intuos) tablet+monitor combo (heck, I don't see any actual system requirements beyond XP-SP2 through Win7 and above ;/ ). Though, does SAI complain about memory usage in the bottom right corner? That would likely be your answer...
If push comes to shove you could try posting up your comp's data and your problem on the wacom forums, along with everything you tried? I know I'd be frustrated after plopping down the money for this and not being able to use it as properly advertised.
I did what you suggested with the misc.ini file, changing the cursor and other option between 1 or 0. Tried different combos and neither had worked before?? but then i remembered i outta change it back to normal so i did and well now there's no more delay as far as i've been scribbling and messing with it. And i'm multi-screening with extended display?? this thing is messing with me
So it essentially had a temper tantrum. Okay. *shrug into space*
Glad to see it's working, though?? Hopefully it'll behave properly now >:Jb
and to clarify cause i word badly anyway, yes i was using it as a second screen when the delay happens. duplicating however works fine and there's no delay
I'll give him a call see if I can get him online :3
"Properties"
then "Extend these displays"
that should fix it if not lmk o:
This is all i have in terms of right clicking the desktop though https://gyazo.com/45d5587d713e2e9fb8d5bbdd261afeb0
I wonder if there are system requirements somewhere? Does your machine clear them?
Try this solution. If the pen is having issues this may help correct your problem. Although it's slightly different from what you are experiencing as in the type of cursor/lag problem.
