I usually don't like talking about my personal life. I find such talks to be depressing. However something really recent happened and I wanted to just get it off my chest.

I have a stepdad, he isn't bad, cracks bad jokes, and has the patience of a saint.
He also has congestive heart failure, his kidneys have failed to the point that he needs dialysis, and his legs are swollen up so badly he can hardly walk.
Anyways my Mom calls me asking if I want to stay over, for a full week because my stepdad's legs have gotten so bad he can't get out of the couch or chair he sits in without help.
I agree but I meet with someone three times a week so we work out a plan and life goes on.
On the Monday I'm supposed to go over my Mom calls me saying it's cancelled because Don is in the hospital. When I ask her for more details she refuses to say anything more. I call Thursday and still nothing.
Desperate for info I notice that Mom has changed her facebook status so I check there. Apparently Don hasn't been home for awhile since he's been bounced back and forth between the hospital and a nursing home. The way she wrote the post (my mom's bipolar) makes it sound like she's depressed.

Anyway just wanted to say something about that.
