So. Fake Patrons.

A while ago it came to my attention that I have several people with pledges to me on Patreon whose payments are either being declined or just never go through processing. As a result, they are getting paid content for free. Even though my Patreon page SAID I was getting over $130 a month, I've actually been getting around $60-75. I have just learned how to know exactly who's paying and who's not, and I've decided what I will do about this.
All the Patreon-exclusive content I have up now will remain as it is, but anything I add from now on will be hosted separately and links will be given out individually to those who are actually paying for the content. Anyone whose payments get declined will be removed from my patrons list (I have already removed the fake patrons I had). If your payment happens to get declined because of an honest mistake, you can contact me and let me know, but you're still not getting any links until you have a payment that actually goes through.
Just thought I'd let you guys know I'm not gonna put up with this kinda bull. :3

So you're saying people can't earn money by producing something others want?
Okay, no more lightbulbs for you, or toilet paper, or that breakfast cereal you like. While we're at it, let's turn off your utilities. ^^
Just about everything works off that concept. Art may be an optional thing for you, but that does not mean artists should not get something for their efforts. You select how much you pay to be a 'patron'. If you think it's worth a little, you give a little, if you think it's worth a lot, you give a lot. If you think it doesn't deserve money...why are you looking at Patreon again?
Looking at your profile, I was a bit surprised at first you posted this, but given the last things I see on there, I imagine you're not in the best of moods with other troubles.
The world is not a perfect place, unfortunately. We'd all like things to go a bit better. Grumbling at people for trying to earn some money via art is not one of the ways of doing that.
The other thing to bear in mind is I still post just about everything I make publicly, so it's not like you're missing THAT MUCH if you don't donate.
TL;DR: People supporting their favorite artists on their own terms in a non-contractual manner and getting perks for it isn't bullshit in my eyes.
People lately have been hiding behind this wall of: If you don't pay enough you won't get to it; too. This has been also becoming a huge recurring theme....
And yes. I maybe jaded because I can't even afford my medications a month, and would like to maybe participate or give to a artist I like. BUT in the long run: Hiding behind you have to throw X amount of money to even get a bit of leg is unfair to those who were fans for years before this showed up.
I'm again sorry to those who do not abuse it. I'm letting my bad night effect all.
and my well wishes to things getting better.
Again I'm sorry to those whom use it propperly, and do take this to the right levels. I know several out there who just hide behind this as a scam, and *Shakes head* I well. Its why I don't like it at all.

On the other hand, if someone at least gets paid initially for it, it's not as bad - You'd have to keep paying if you wanted to see future stuff too.
