The army and my man
My boyfriend just got on the bus to go to basic training for the army...
The anticipation, the waiting, the nerves, the what ifs..
Desolate, inconsolable, and a little numb.
The future suddenly here
Half my heart, my solar plexus, the top of my stomach, and my lungs are gone, ripped from me and taken away.
Will it grow back? Will it be scar tissue, rock solid and impenetrable?
Or, will I just take my missing pieces back, deciding they were forfeit with the wheels of the departing bus.
Or maybe they'll even be mailed home to me with an accompanying letter, "Dear Jane Doe, you left these with me, but, I don't want them. Love, John Doe"
The other half of the future needs to hurry and get here

While I was in Basic Training, several people got Dear John letters. It's demoralizing and sometimes the person's reaction is to up and leave Basic Training (usually under the cover of night), or to try and get out of the Army any way possible. If you decide to take your pieces back, it's sometimes best to not tell him until you're face to face with him. Until then, if you do care for him, support him until he gets out of Basic.
Or you can tell me to go fuck myself and do what you want.
That why I said something about me getting the dear jane, I promised him I'd be waiting. I'm really referring to how he acts after he gets out of boot camp, and how we react to each other.
Thank you for your concern though, it's much appreciated (fer real)
My sister's BF is in the army as well....
How long have you guys been together?
Oh! my bf and I started dating last September 8D
The amount of time you guys have been dating is more than enough time to develop a strong emotional bond...
I live in the U.S. in michigan... Yeah, we've always had a strong emotional bond, right from the start
Yeah.. I dunno, I've bad things about the US military, I dunno how true they are though... I live in Canada XD
