So...World of Warcraft..?
Ok I'm actually running the trial version of if since my boyfriend been nagging like an old lady bout me trying the game so we can play together hopefully if I enjoy it.
Problem...is fucking boring as shit..
And I'm sitting here trying to find what got people hook to this game, for how many people subscribed to the game,
there must be a reason and I just cant find it honestly. So for those of you guys who plays WoW.
Tell me what you enjoy of that game, and help me find a reason or something to enjoy, cause right now, that terrible E.T. game on the
Atari seem more entertaining than this.
What I got for those curious:
Level 14 Rogue - Blood Elf. ( two day of painful questing)
And Trial max level intro is 20.

FA+

Have fun.
But people know I never mean harm, Im not bashing the game.
Cause if a game can stay up for 10y, their doing a good job, I wont deny that.
As you can see other have replied with what actually interested them. No anger in it.
The thing is I'm tryin to find something fun for me cause I'm doing it for my boyfriend, he already does a lot for me so is only fair for me to be open to what he likes.
Just everything feels so slow.
So is really to help me enjoy it so i can enjoy with the BF.
I insist on you to read your journal like it was not yours, and tell me it does not "sounds" angry and bitchy :3
I used to not like Borderlands. Even hated it.
Until I found something fun that I enjoyed. And is like that with every game, until I find something interesting I wont be into it, thus why I ask.
You're comment because of the "straighfoward wording", not cause of the lack of emotes.
I know it can sound bitchy, but people kinda know me for not being one. I mean fuck, your talkin to the guy that made a walking dick animation. If that means anything. XD
As for enjoyment all Ive been doing so far is quest, cause there doesnt seem to be anything else I can do.
If you played the Warcraft games, you come with the lore part, fascinated about exploring the lands and cities that you saw before, now as yourself instead of predefined hero, and get the chance to interact with those old heroes as you progress in the game.
If you don't come with the previous games' fascination, you still have the social interaction part. So instead of doing quests that you don't need to read into (as you get markers "go there" and do something X ammount of times) focus on the social interaction of the game: duel other players for self pride, go to dungeons with them for team work, and go battlegrounds for pvp stress. Join a guild and see what kind of people they are, you'll find a bunch of closed circles, and a few that will be willing to interact with you and teach you about the game since they have accomplished everything and have nothing else to do than jump around in a main city aimlessly.
Some interactions might be limited because of the trial, I dunno. If that happens then the developers suck at making it catchy for new players, and if you don't like what the trial gives, then I think it's just fair to leave the game. Play what you find fun.
That what I heard of it.
I played the previous warcraft game, so I only have a slight knowledge of the lore. But nothing worth to write home about.
And I know is fair if I don't enjoy it to leave, but I want to give it a fair chance thus why I made this journal. And quite a few people say only the end game is interesting if it is true, I would never know.
As for them sucking at making it interesting for new player I wouldn't know XD.
All I know where I'm at is empty as fuck.
I wouldn't base your expectations on low lvl leveling, it sucks when you are first starting out because of the lack of heirloom gear and other things to help you along. So unless you purchase a boosted toon which will push your character to lvl 90 (at $60 to do so ) the first time lvling will be rather long but at least you will not have seen all the quests and done them like 100 times before!
But once you hit lvl cap and are able to do some endgame content, it is really fun! There is also the pvp part of wow but it is much harder than pve.
All in all the game needs to be experienced more then the first 20 lvls to get a scope of everything you can do :3
As my access to the game is restricted, so I can only base my judgement on it and nothing to be fair.
And I wont use that 60$ booster like holy fuck.
That shit expensive.
Honestly, in my opinion, it's not so much the game itself you'll enjoy by itself, it's the shenanigans you can get up to with friends. Just rolling around questing to level or an older area for a laugh, dueling each other, raiding, arenas, or just chilling around capital cities. It's an MMO that's better with friends. Inside jokes will be made, laughs to be had, etc.
The game restriction trial players so I can only base my judgement from the first 20 levels.
Be it fair or not, there not much I can do from there.
Well Ill be joining my BF group of friend who apparently wants to know me since we started dating, but right now is about me experiencing the game before anything else.
As for class, I took rogue cause I had no choice really, the only one that seemed interesting was the death knight but I cant access them in the trial. So kinda forced myself to pick a class that I didn't care much for.
The social bit is also a bit hard for me since I'm a big introvert.
And they have removed the requirement.
Personally, I feel wow is a group game. It's lots of fun with friends, joking around and having a good time. On your own its a shit game. Guild wars 2 has struck me as a much better single player(you can play alone) mmorpg. I play it often, and have a level 60, which is 20 levels below max.
If your so wants you to become integrated in wow, I strongly suggest the two of you play together as low levels and quest your way up the ranks. It's much better that way, IMO.
I hope this helps. ^^ Good luck.
I have GW2 don't really play it much though. Something kinda turn me off from the game.
So I can't really go back on it and enjoy it like I used too.
Is mostly for him that I'm trying to get into WoW.
I'm on a break right now due to personal feelings. Some things happened between me and some of the best friends I ever had, so playing wow is..bittersweet, for me. It hurts, but at the same time I can remember those friends and try to honor them and what they taught me.
Depression from the incident has really settled into my life despite it being over two years ago now, so I take a lot of long breaks from the game. Of course it doesn't help that I can barely afford the subscription, but still. XD
Really, once you get to higher levels and buy heirlooms, leveling gets much much easier. With a full set iof heirlooms, you can increase your xp gain by 45% and pretty much 3-hit-kill whatever you touch(except bosses). Then you have more time for whatever else draws you into the game, be it learning lore, pvp, hunting through the armour/weapons until you have the perfect matching set, rp, hunting down all the minipets, collecting mounts...most people won't care you're not max level. Those who do care are either 1) cruel or 2) are thinking o the allegedly super fun endgame content. I don't have a max level, so I've never seen said content. XD
I heard of the sex town or RP, which I think ill avoid to not be traumatize. XD
And havent seen much people if not only a handful of them that I could count on one hand.
Really felt empty.
As far as emptiness goes, depending on the server you choose, you could go days without seeing anyone. My main server is crowded to hell, you can't go five minutes without stumbling across a player.
For the sex town...yes. That does exist, mainly goldshire on moonguard and wyrmrest accord. I do strongly advise staying away from that place because it can be very traumatizing. Rp in general usually isn't, and if you find a group of people you get along well with and know the rules of rp well(typically no godmoding, no powerplaying, no characters related to main lore figures and so on) then doing can be really fun! If you're into that sort of thing, of course.
I do hope my views/opinions have helped you somewhat, and I hope you enjoy the time you spend in the game, even if it's a pain in the butt.
If you were there from the beginning you'd understand the fuss
Trying to get into it now is like starting a REALLY long book from the beginning, that only people who were there from the very beginning understood
It's not fun for a newcomer
I just broke the habit and I suggest you don't start it
To my knowledge is a weird webcomic.
Do you mean about the expansions?
Well for me is more "i can get to experience more in a shorter run".
Just I'm starting out and is really hard to say "yay is fun"
And I'm not looking turning into a wow nerd and waste my whole life on it XD
It would only be for a few occasion hen me and bf want to game together.
I don't think I have access to the dungeon since I'm just playing the trial version and have none of the expansions. Well I only played it on a few bit with the BF. So been testing it mostly by myself.
I was forced to pick horde since the boyfriend is in it and the whole group of friends. XD
I hate the starting it really feel like a cookie cutter world and environment, elf forest blablabla....
Is like come on, be original. -.-
Cause I didnt get to choose anything else.
I just saw that on my character selection screen
So Got to decide If I want to continue or not.
But around 10 hours if not more.
It really feels slow, and Im doing every quest so I dont know what I would be doing that would be wrong.
had a couple free instant 90 boosts so i can definitely say 90 - 100 is way more fun than early levels.
end game, druids and warlocks are also quite good, the playstyles work for me anyway :D
But mostly for me it's exploring and hanging with friends.
It's not for everyone though. Some people aren't going to like the "collect-a-thon" way it's played or the grinding factor that can come in to play. Some people aren't going to like having to do the quests to go over here, then get the thing, to go over here halfway across the world to give it to someone else who just wants to look at it and then tell you to take it back. But even those quests for me are more fun because of the story behind it and the places it takes you. Half the time those quests seem like they're only there FOR you to go exploring around, but gives you something to do while you do so.
But honestly? If you're still not feeling it, then it may not be for you. I used to hate the game and couldn't figure out the appeal either until I got with friends who explored with me and made it fun. Then I got hooked and now I'm caught playing by myself for HOURS. But it is one of those things either you love it, let it grow on you, or flat out can't do it.
That 20 level trial isn't going to be enough though, to really get into the good parts of the game. That's why it's free till then. You do get to do SOME stuff, but all the GOOD stuff is much much later.
The game does feel big, that I can say because of how longs it takes me to get to a point to another. -.-'''
Im just trying to be open about for the boyfriend cause he wants to get back on it but not alone.
And his other friends also want me in, cause they know "if Bryan in, He gonna be in too" so kinda why Im giving i a chance for the bf, not much for the others.
Sadly the trial only what I get based on, not gonna waste money until im certain if I will enjoy or not.
If he wants people to play with I'd be cool with adding him! Even if we didn't get on the same server at least we could still chat~ I am not on all the time as I generally only pay for it when I know I'll use it, but I am on sometimes and I do have a lot of fun~
In fact I might even go and renew my subscription now!
Just me mentionning the game made you want to resub to it, i just find it funny.
literally never bothered with pvp since Aus net connections are a handicap
It's all like
"I like warcraft"
"Go play ET"
"I like the lore"
"...I wasn't nagging!" xDD
