i dont really give a shit about the new ones abilities and such. ive been outta magic for like a few years now. im just sayin dem motherfuckers look like they crawled straight outta silent hill
like i said, the old ones. i find the new designs to be TOO abundant, theres too many, all the designs blend together and most of them look person sized, meanwhiel the old ones were few and far between, all of them very unique, and the titans actually FELT like titans, the new ulamog looks like a cartoon rather then a world eating titan from another dimension of space and time.
Ulamog's art is directly inspired by his art from Zendikar; so it actually hasn't changed that much.
And the reason why there are 'too many eldrazi' is because, as we know from the returning 'scions', they tend to make a lot of other eldrazi. They all look similar, because they're all the spawn of ulamog now; the other eldrazi have left Zendikar.
Note the fact he has a neck now, is far more colourful, and doesnt appear as threatening in general as hes MUCH smaller now despite spending who knows how long on the most unstable plane in the multiverse devouring it. The old one is towering over either a larger lake and mountains or an ocean, the new one is roughly the same size as the surrounding landscape. In generla i am disappointed in the new eldrazi becuase they are so bland and boring, and without annhilator they dont feel threatening.
EDIT: they also removed some of his bony plates, and his elbow spikes.
He got a couple of updates and he's still terrifyingly huge; he's just sitting in a former biome.
He has a neck because the eldrazi went through a very minor redesign according to the established cannon.
The old one barely has anything to compare his size to, and it's hard to tell if those are mountains or just a part of Zendikar ripping itself apart.
I also wouldn't say he's more colorful. He has the same color scheme exactly.
If anything, the most that's changed is his neck and his chest, and it doesn't do anything to harm the Titan's looks.
Also, there are like.. a handful of Kozilek themed eldrazi. That's because they are trying to hint that Kozilek may still be on Zendikar. But chances are, he also left Zendikar when Emerakul did.
there are birds in the new pic, compare those birds to any of the birds on the five titan cards, sun titan is the best example, and you can get a general feel of his size, which is fairly small compared to sun titan, and eldrazi are the second largest beings in exsitence, the largest being marit laige.
And we know from other artwork, ie; the original, that he's definitely bigger than Sun Titan. Sun Titan would be dwarfed by one of those nasty white looking jarring spikes.
And another thing; The only reason Ulamog looks smaller in the second/new pic is because he's leaning /down/ to face whatever is out of view.
So he's not smaller, he's just half prone. And his head is still 40x larger than the mountain or remains of a mountain behind him.
