Are you initiating some of the sessions to show continued interest? Maybe your friend feels he/she/it are imposing by always starting the conversations. Just a thought.

I was the one who started it this time yes. Usually I am in most situations.

Oh. Maybe your fears are right. But this reminds me of a story.

Once there was a man who was not handsome, or rich, or well connected; but seemed to have a different date every evening of the week. All his co-workers where amazed by his popularity. Week after week they saw the man out on the town each evening with the most beautiful and elegant women. One co-worker decided to find out the man's secret. So he asked the man "How do you do it? You have so many wonderful women and dates every evening. " The man said it was simple. It is a game of numbers.

The man at each opportunity at the train station, coffee shop, elevator, or anywhere else; would say hello to any women present. His goal was to say hello to 100 women each day. He knew 50 would ignore him. But of the 50 that did not ignore him, 40 would say something else not to be repeated here and 10 would say hello back. Of those 10, in the next few sentences 8 would begin to show no further interest. Of the last 2, one would say yes to a date that evening, and one would say maybe another day. "So you see by chatting to 100 women a day, I am sure to have a date for the evening. It is easy, just a game of numbers."

Thankies for the story. *hugs* I do feel a bit better... just still kind of down about it and the real problem is I have no real social outlet anymore. I know no one down here other than my roomates.

Hang in there and keep trying. I am told "it gets better". Maybe believing is as good as reality, not sure yet.
