Yeah, I see Skype as one of those 'it works for some, but not others' programs. I have friends who have trouble with it 24/7 where I've only had a few hiccups here and there with it, but otherwise it's fine. It's like it's not optimized for different machines or something

I only use Skype for iphone

Skype seemed to work okay for me until I updated to the latest version. Apparently it just said "You know what, we're not gonna remember your last online status so every time ya sign in we'll put you as online"...one system restore later things were working smoothly again. It's a known problem for that version, not updating Skype until that's fixed.

I'm tempted to try Google Hangouts but that gets tricky when it comes to real names and stuff. I guess it would be with people I know well
