my beta fish that i had for 3 or 4 years passed away recently and i replaced her with a dragonscale male i think??
he's very pretty and the reason i picked him out in the pet store was bc he looks super healthy
but he won't eat.
he gets very interested in the food and looks at it, sometimes if i'm lucky he grabs it but then spits it right out.
i'm not sure what could be wrong?? i think his tank is a gallon tank. water is room temp and i change most of the water weekly. he still looks healthy but he wont eat!! i tried bloodworms and flakes and pellets but he just doesn't want it.

Could it be velvet? I'm definitely just googling things, sounds like velvet can cause loss of appetite.
How long have you had him? Sometimes animals won't eat when you first get them, and I think that's universal among most pets. Raichu didn't eat for two weeks when I got her! I was so nervous but it was normal.
i'll have to see if i can find some money to get a bigger one for this guy eventually. i think he might just be having a hard time getting used to things. i haven't even had him a week yet. and i don't think he's sick or anything either bc the whole reason i picked him was bc he was the healthiest looking fish there.
it might just be that he's nervous bc of a change??
when i first got zayn he didn't eat for like a week and a half :0
