Oklacon.com posted yesterday that due to the issues that arose from an incident last year pre-con at the Roman Nose State Park in Oklahoma, the Oklahoma State Tourism and Parks board has banned Oklacon from entry to Sequoyah State Park and any other state park in the future. This was not the fault of the Oklacon staff. It was a select few individuals who chose to participate in public sexual intercourse at a main campsite last year, which was immediately reported to the rangers by Oklacon staff. However, someone filed a complaint with the board this year just a few weeks ago that caused park management at Sequoyah to consider Oklacon too much of a liability. This is utter bs. I think there is some sterotyping, some hate, and some lies going on here.

Ultimately, Oklacon is dead. I'm sure other cons will rise from this but it's just a major speed bump in Oklahoma to lose one of our outdoor conventions.
