Of course, if you'd also said that "computers will be small enough to have one in every home" you'd also have been laughed at.
I remember when I was kid though, after seeing one of the first combination printer/faxer/copiers, I thought to myself that someday they would combine your computer, your TV, your telephone and your tape player all into one machine.
Of course, at the time, I was imagining some huge big box, but it turns out that I guessed right!
