Fem shep had more "attitude" than male shepard, but I found that really only worked well when you were doing a renegade playthrough. When doing a neutral or more paragon focused playthrough, her "tough" delivery of the lines didn't roll well.

I felt that male shep had a more proper voice for "this is a "faceless" character and you decide how they approach a situation".

I've always played as a paragon FemShep, but I've watched video of MaleShep playthroughs, and I have to say that I thought MaleShep's voice was very flat and uninteresting.
It does work for a "faceless" character, but that didn't really work for me. I liked "being" Shepard. If it was Skyrim, or Fallout, I would prefer as little voice as possible because I'm trying to play "S'lith, Tail-Raiser" (or whatever my character is). In Mass Effect - I'm guiding Shepard through the events. I have a lot of control over what she says, or what she does, but it's not me - it's Shepard.

As for FemShep's "tough" delivery - Jennifer Hale did a fantastic job. Her delivery on the Renegade interrupts is fracking priceless. But then, I think personal taste is the difference here. I just prefer FemShep's voice actor to MaleShep.

Yeah, it would have been nice. Poor FemShep didn't get the exposure she deserved.

But I do have to say - I was quite tickled when the "official" FemShep in the trailers and art ended up looking EXACTLY like the Shep I made myself.
