I'm a bit over half way on my break in XIV for the moment, but before it I have been playing since the very start of the game. I play on Cerberus with LiconGreenEyedT: and a bunch of other friends

The story is kind of slow at first, but it really gets going at about level 20 (First dungeons are level 15~17), and the fact that they made it so you can play as any race and any class, unlike FFXI where the race you played basically limited you to what classes you could play.

And you can do everything with a single character. Meaning you can hit level 60 on all combat, crafting, and gathering classes in the game with a single character.

i play it everyday on Excalibur server.

game is like any other mmo so expect to level grind, and read and learn how gameplay works, also the best thing about this game is the story! unlike any other mmo were your drop in and start playing, this one got a nice intro LONG one expect a 30 minutes intro and then you start playing, but it opens up with a story on what happens as your slowy introduced to whats going on.

i would get the free trial for 15 days and have at it and see how you like it, if your expecting to get a chocobo, you have to wait till you hit above level 20 and do the main questline till you hit the grand company to earn it.

otherwise if you buy Heavensward DLC you get a free Gryphon mount
