man, i probably don't even know what i'm doing!

so here's a rhetorical question for ya: what is art?
apparently i've been found out: i'm not making art at all! all the only thing i'm doing is scraping together a bunch of perceived lines and blotches of colour into some kind of form that tricks the viewer into thinking that whatever is shown is actually what it is!
but then there's the tricky part... what one calls art is purely subjective. looking up the entry in a dictionary, it is "the quality, production, expression, or realm, according to aesthetic principles, of what is beautiful, appealing, or of more than ordinary significance." i guess whatever i submit to this site is devoid of any of the above, and all i am is a robot tricking all of you.
it's not like i'm jaded or overly cynical about what i deem to be called "art", or what others believe what is art and what is not. it's kind of interesting to boil down one's views on the subject matter. hell, if you wanted to get into the most literal aspect, i'm just submitting a set of hexadecimal values placed in a certain order in a constrained size set by a series of ones and zeros. forget the human behind the scenes manipulating the tools necessary to create such works of "art". forget how much time said human commits into an "art" project, no matter how big or how small. forget the creative process said human goes through in that grey matter of a brain they have before any physical semblance of a piece of "art" exists.
whoops, i think i'm droning a little long here. perhaps that brain that i have does work, albeit in all the wrong ways. i'll still make these things (which are not art) because it's fun, and some people out there are able to enjoy it on a level all their own, no matter what kind of emotive response they may take from it.

Any time anyone wants to do the "what is or isn't art" argument, it's best to just run the other way. Or punch them in the balls. SOMEBODY is going to call a sculpture made of poop "art" and somebody else is going to say the Sistine Chapel is just paintings of naked people.
If it's "art" to somebody, then it's "art" even if it isn't to me or you. So if it's "art" to you, then it's "art" regardless of whatever anyone else says.
No, it's not fun. It's just your brain tricking you into THINKING it's fun through a process of chemical changes and science stuff.
"the quality, production, expression, or realm, according to aesthetic principles, of what is beautiful, appealing, or of more than ordinary significance."
Your stuff is a production and expression of what you consider beautiful and appealing, and others find it that way too. You're one of my top 5 favorite artists, and the main reason why is the way you create your pieces. You are an artist, and don't let anyone ever tell you otherwise. If my stuff is consider art, then yours most definitely is.
And to me, art is a style. And you definitely have that X3
Or, much more literally, "scraping together a bunch of perceived lines and blotches of colour into some kind of form that tricks the viewer into thinking that whatever is shown is actually what it is" falls into that category. ;3 If someone wrote that line to you in genuine accusation of -art (ie not irony), then, who knows, it was probably written by a failed art student. Like that Hitler guy.
You may thing that "art" are just parameters and hexadecimal values, but its all wrong. In a way, art, from the principles of time, is been a way to represent you expressions and as well as what your mind reflects about life. Remeber that, not only drawing or doodling is art, there is the music/dance/acting ways to represent it. Take the greek for example, the ones who continued evolutioning it. They did statues, buildings, were the creators of acting as well and they just represented their affection and work for thier country. As well as the dances the native did on their ceremonies and ETC.
So, not only doodling is art, as well as ANYWAY you get to expres yourself towards other, no mattering what they feel. Thats why some reject it, some get sad, some laugh and such, because thats what they perceive from your doings, when you might do it in a way that you understand it in your way and the viewer on another ((mind reflection)) So, you are doing fine, any kind of "consecutive lines of color blotches" that you do is for a enjoying viewing cause.
