Furries and views on gun ownership

It has come to my attention recently that several if not many of my furry friends are in support of owning guns, rather than banning guns. This both baffles and scares me. I thought furries were known for being kind, cuddly, open, and warm? So what's warm and friendly about wanting more guns? :(
