Music playing in your streams it's ok.

Honestly, it's kind of annoying to me when artists are communicating with the mic. For the most part, I just keep streams muted because I have my own music going on, and don't like not being able to ask questions and stuff.

When you say you don't like being able to ask questions. Do you mean specifically because you mute the stream and if they were on mic your question would be answered without you hearing it? Just curious about that part but thanks for the input! ^^

yes! If they're talking primarily with their mic instead of via the chat, I'm not going to be able to ask questions and get answers because I have the stream muted and won't be able to hear it.

Um... I'm also not a fan of streaming music and/or video while you're doing other stuff... I like streams where you're working and half-talking your way through it so that, as a VERY fledgling artist, I can learn stuff. "The Artist At Work" as a PBS show sort of thing. FWIW. :)

So you'd want the artist to be on mic talking about techniques as they work? Or just answering questions in chat as they come up? Or either? Thanks!

Sort of both, as appropriate? But yeh, like "I found this technique online" or answering "how do make space the eyes" or whatever. Just sort of talking your way through it - I know it's weird "talking about art". Just a thought.

i do like the streams with the music but also miss the cartoons a bit but either way i just enjoy watching you stream

What I despise is people play videos in streams as what you want them watch the video or your art lol. So far you have as far I know not played any videos and that is awesome. Art is what I want see in a stream and I am like others said i have my own music i play 99% time.

I typically like the music in the background when I've watched people's streams. Though other times I mute the sound to watch my own videos on the side or listen to my own music as I watch. I suppose if I did watch in that case, I'd like having music in the background and active in the chat where possible.

I like when the artist talks, it could be about their thoughts and plans for the piece, their technique, answering questions, upcoming events, or whatever. There could be music in the background, but I prefer it to be soft and unobtrusive, so the focus is on the art being done. Definitely no videos, unless you're taking a break from drawing for a while. And no need to type in channel either; that could be distracting for you!

Art and music. You don't have to do anything special when both of those are good.

I sometimes look at multiple streams at once, and when I do I focus on the chats more than the art. Video and voice seem to grab attention, but video might drive some people away if you're showing something they don't want to watch, and voice commentary is annoying for those who (sometimes have to) watch streams muted or find the topic uninteresting. You can't satisfy everyone here.

If the idea is to get more people talking, I think you need something more than just art and music but I don't know what that something is.

I've actually seen people who stream movies and talk on their mic and just hang out particularly movie Fridays would be awesome, that's always fun. I honestly just like watching and listening to music the most though!
