I'm fat and dumb and was tagged by
to do this meme thingie. Soooo... Here goes!
1. You started to play videogames at the age of...?
I have no friggin' idea WHEN I started to play video games, but I'll say maybe it was around age 5 or 6.
2. First game you ever played?
This is another good question! I'm pretty sure it was Pokemon Crystal though. The only evidence I have to back this claim is that I learned to read thanks to the game, sooooo... Ye.
3. First console you owned?
A green Gameboy Color! I still have it, but it unfortunately doesn't work anymore.
4. Consoles you own/owned?
Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, Gameboy Advance SP, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS XL, NEW Nintendo 3DS XL, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Wii, Wii U, Playstation, PS2, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360.
5. Your favorite genre(s)?
It's really hard for me to find a "favorite" genre, because I can find enjoyment in any game I play, even FPS ones. Though if I had to limit it to a handful, I would say I always get the most enjoyment out of JRPGs, RPGs, Turn Based Strategy, and I think Action/Adventure games.
6. Favorite game character(s)?
ANOTHER HARD QUESTION. But, if I had to pick one, it would probably be Travis Touchdown from the No More Heroes series. He's so goofy, full of himself, and a total weaboo that it makes his games even more fun to play. Like seriously, his main reason for even being an assassin in the first place is just so he can get into Sylvia's pants. That's dedication right there.
7. Which element(s) in games is/are most important for you (story, graphic etc.)?
Graphics are overrated, stories can be too long and convoluted, there is no real unique way to make game play engaging anymore... So really I just wanna focus on whether or not I'm having fun with the game. For example, if you were to sit me down in a room with two choices; the newest Super Mario game, or Call of Duty, I would probably pick Mario. Say what you will about the franchise being milked dry, but the games are always really fun! The same can be said for a lot of IPs from a lot of platforms and genres. Something fun is all I care about.
8. You don't care about ...?
I'll re-iterate; graphics, story, gameplay, "uniqueness", length, all that crap they always go on about in game reviews.
9. Prefer PC or Console?
I like them both! I've always been given the argument "but D why would u wanna buy a console that's so lame pc is better blah blah blah". Well, first of all, I have beef with both. Consoles have their competition with each other that forces them to make platform exclusives, the cost of controllers is bogus, you have to pay for your online experience, yadda yadda yadda. With PC you run the risk of dropping like, a grand on a home built desktop that's state of the art for like a year or two before it's out of date and can't run the latest Triple A title or whatever, so then you have to spend several more hundred dollars upgrading the damn thing just to keep up with those shiny new games you want to play with. Both sides have their downsides, but they also have their upsides. I love couch gaming. It's comfortable, you can play with friends locally, all that jazz. I love PC gaming. I can boot up steam, chat with my friends over text while I'm shooting zombies or something, it's all good.
10. Your current 3 Fav games?
Undertale, Pokemon Black/White, and I think probably Rogue Legacy. This is my list as of right now, and the list varies a lot depending on what I've been playing recently. For example; I'm pretty sure if you asked me next week what was my favorite one or two of those games would be replaced with like, Elder Scrolls Online, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Splatoon, Dragonball Xenoverse... You get the idea.
11. 3 Games you didn't like...
The only games I didn't like were probably all ones that focused on the online play aspect rather than the campaign. So, mostly Call of Duty games and Battlefield type stuff. Why, you ask? Well, for starters, where I grew up I didn't have internet that was capable of playing games online, so I spent 90% of my time always playing in single player. To put more effort and time into a game is really crappy in my honest opinion. There are still people out there who can't enjoy that kinda stuff. I feel that developers should always have their best teams split between those who do online and offline stuff, so everyone can enjoy and have fun.
12. One game that's totally overrated in your opinion?
I'll probably be slain for this but, Team Fortress 2. Don't get me wrong, it's a lot of fun with friends, but it's not the best thing since sliced bread. It has it's problems just like every other game. That doesn't mean I don't enjoy it, though!
13. Ever played an online game, if yes which one(s)?
Several! Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, World of Warcraft, Warframe, Elder Scrolls Online, and I may be getting into Wildstar soon. However, all of these games kinda suck by yourself, so I don't really play them anymore unless I'm with friends. The only exception is ESO, because of how it's set up, you can still have tons of fun by yourself.
14. What do you think about ...Tomb Raider?
Never played it. Though I do love the concept.
15. ...Tetris?
Tetris is really fun if you're just kinda chilling by yourself and don't feel like playing anything too engaging. Besides, it's matching colors and shapes! Fun!
16. ...Sonic?
I've never really had beef with the Sonic franchise unlike every other gamer in existence. Yeah, there are some terrible games, but not all of them are miserable. Then again, I go in playing the game and making my own experiences, not the one they want you to have.
That being said, I LOVE SONIC ADVENTURE 2 BATTLE
17. ...Spyro?
I've always had plenty of fun with the Spyro games, and I'm honestly kinda disappointed in the Skylanders trash that replaced it.
18. ...The Sims?
The Sims is fun whenever you're up for playing God, but that's about it.
19. ...Legend of Zelda?
I've never played a bad Zelda game, unless you count Zelda 2: The Adventures of Link. But, even then, it wasn't miserable. In fact as far as Zelda games go, if you were to put one in front of me I would play it and become a fan instantly. Now, that's not to say that I'll beat it, because I have a terrible habit of getting busy and putting the game down for long periods at a time, but I still have fun with them!
20. ... Assassin's Creed?
That'll be a big N-O there good buddy. The games are boring, the story is boring, and it's just the same crap Activision does with Call of Duty. Let it die already.
21. GAME OVER!!!
Ness! It looks like you got your head handed to you. So, how about giving it another shot?
22. Game(s) you'd love to see?
Honestly I'd love to see more obscure JRPGs floating around. Undertale was great because it gave you the option to play the game through without killing any monsters, and that caused the game's story to change with that. There's another new one coming out called Y2K: A Post-Modern RPG that I'm excited for too, if only because it seems like what a 3D Earthbound would be like. Aside from that, I'm curious to see what FPS games can do to make it seem more fun for people like me.
23. Game(s) you're waiting for at the moment?
Fallout 4 and Y2K: A Post-Modern RPG. Aside from that I'm having fun playing the games I have now.
I don't really have anyone to tag, but if you wanna do this meme thing feel free! I had a lot of fun with it, even if I seem like I'm being kind of mean in some of these answers. Really i'm just being blunt.
