It actually sounds mostly entertaining. I have an up and down relationship with Regular Show because, as absurdist and creative as the plots are (with instances of stuff I genuinely seek like interspecies romance and sincerity) I hate most of the characters. They're mostly Aesop-amnesiac flat tropes, and generally horrible people. If I knew someone like Rigby in real life I would have punched them out long ago. Probably repeatedly. Mordo too. It's why I prefer Steven Universe if I hav to watch a CN show. But if what you say is so, the movie may be worth a look.

Mordecai and Rigby strike me as less obnoxious versions of Beavis and Butt-head, with a couple of caveats. B&B were horrible characters, but also two of the funniest cultural critics of the '90s. Unlike them, Mordo and Riggs are (barely) capable of growing up, even if they're essentially rebooted at the start of every episode. B&B were creatures of the zeitgeist; M&R are all about nostalgia, especially for '80's pop culture -- the characters themselves are, interestingly, '90s slackers (the parents and older siblings of today's hipsters) -- and it's not even an ironic nostalgia: they genuinely love this stuff, which adds another layer to the joke.

Seems to me that REGULAR SHOW is about losers who repeatedly transcend their own limitations, only to find themselves right back where they started in the following episode. To me, this is funny as hell because it says something about our real life ambitions and achievements.

And let's face it, I'm a sucker for a good bromance.

I'll give them one thing, as smeone who is practically a creature made of pure elemental Sincerity I have to applaud how sincere they are. I wish more people were. Then Mexicans could live in San Diego rather that being priced out by obnoxious hipsters.
