The deal I made
A very long time ago, I made a deal to whomever was listening; that I would give up the ideal concept of a happily every romance of love, in exchange for literary fame. Though I have yet to attain any type of fame or recognition for my art: it is very clear that love has and always will continue to avoid me regardless of circumstances or fortune. I realize now that it has always been an obstacle, a deterrent to my true goal in life. I can only assume that she has always been listening in my life and as a result I must simply relinquish myself to her will and accept her direction and achieve my goal.

To each their own, but devotion to an ideal has more of a payoff than just fame in the end.

You mention a she, why would you give it that kind of a distinction when you don't know who answered?

We can HOPE, but I don't have much faith in ever KNOWing.

Because it wasn't directed to anybody specific, that kind of deal isn't binding. I made a similar one with a constellation, and when I failed to complete my end, the punishment was not terrible. Besides, with no accountability, you may never get the fame you wanted. Dieaties/deamons/constilations are squirmy like that. If love finds you, I advise you jump in and hold on. Because it will one day, and it would be a shame to miss it over something like this.
