Emergency Matter: Moose On The Mend
General
Wednesday night we came home and Din was sitting on a stool outside our garage. It's all concrete patio there. Anyways, when he went to get up with his walker, he lost his balance and fell backwards into the garbage cans. Now for you or me, it woulda been a minor slip but given the fact he has had surgery on both hips, any kind of fall is serious business. What ended up happening, it took our tenant plus me to get him into his wheelchair. It was decided to take him to Emergency for examination. I got him there and the medics took over. Long story short, he has a hairline fracture in his left hip that will need surgery soon. He is in the hospital and will be transferred to Therapy for about a week. Then surgery will follow to shore up his leg. The silver lining is when all is said and done, his leg will be much better and he might not need a walker or wheelchair and mebbe just a cane at most.
What this is means is, things are gonna be pretty nuts here. I will be holding down the fort while Din convelences. I AM gonna try to get as much art as possible going but it's gonna be slow going. So please understand , my commissioners, you will get your art but this has thrown a monkey wrench into our plans. I can only ask your continued indulgence and patience. Btwn this and other matters, we are both under a lot of pressure. Please pray for the moose and if you can spare one, me too.
When Din gets more info he'll post on his page.

Take good care and see what you can do to minimize future falling risks. This could've been worse, but is pretty nasty already.
I too go without my cane and become a bit wobbly, I loathe the thing as it's a real sign of being old and infirm. But the potential for harm like what happened to Din definitely makes me think about swallowing my pride. Maybe with some BBQ sauce it'll taste OK?
ALL THE BEST GUYS!
Let us know if we can do anything.
I'll see to call during the weekend. This is terrible.
(after thinking about it a while . . .) A while back Din asked if he was boring. Of course he's boring. We're all boring. None of us cure cancer or hang out with supermodels or patrol our cities by night looking for evildoers. We have ordinary lives and hang out with ordinary friends and have ordinary conversations about nothing in particular. If we're lucky we know someone who talks about the ordinary things with enthusiasm and that reminds us why the little things are important and why there's nothing wrong with having an ordinary life.
I read Din's journals because he's generous enough to share his little life with us and I get interested in what's happening and how you two are doing and I feel good when you two are doing well and sympathize when things go wrong. Thanks. PLEASE get well soon Din. I really hope the improved mobility thing pans out and that the financial stuff works out too.
Good luck 'holding down the fort' (Why do people say that? Will it blow away?) Don't get eaten by that vast herd of hungry pets. You're more outnumbered than usual.
