Getting in Shape - Week 3
So some of you already know this, but for those of you don't, the last few years I have been neglectful of myself and due to poor diet and lack of exercise, I put on nearly 80 pounds of weight. I recently decided to change that and have started to work on getting in shape. With some help from
Eric_the_bull, I started a low carb diet and a workout plan. For the diet the biggest changes were simple, I cut all sources of sugar (pop being the biggest) and 90% of the carbs out of my diet. The few carbs I am eating I am trying to front load in the morning whenever I can. I am now working on portion size, my goal is to cut portions in half.
Last week was the first week of my exercise routine designed to burn off some of the weight and put on some muscle. The program is 6 days on, 1 day off every week. With each workout being 30 minutes a day and the entire program being three months. And I am proud to say I finished week one. With the love and support of a few great people ( you know who you are, you don't need me to name you I'd hope ) I am slowly getting this done. So as not to spam peoples journals, I plan to use this journal as my main update journal for anyone who cares enough to watch my progress. I will update it each Monday with how I am doing.
Week 1: Well it was touch and go there at the beginning, after the first three workouts I was sure I was going to die lol but I pushed through it. By the fourth day it started becoming easier and last night, day six, I felt more confident and was able to get through the entire routine without stopping. So proud of myself right now. I am down to 292 pounds. Diet so far is going well, still working on portion sizes.
Week 2: I injured my knee at some point and have been struggling. I pushed forward however and didn't miss a single workout (though I had to cut one a minute short because my knee was threatening to give out. I am down to 288 pounds! Appetite has gone down drastically in the evening. Still struggle with portion side during the day but I don't know if having a big salad is a bad thing. Next week I start level 2 and I am terrified.
Week 3: First week at level 2. Back to feeling like I am going to die every session. Right now having big problems with weakness in my right ankle and knee. Still pushing myself though. Didn't lose as much weight this week, down to 284 pounds but still gaining ground. One more week to finish off month one. I may end up sticking at level 2 for an extra week if I can't handle some of the exercises yet, need to build up those core muscles.

Here's hoping the next few weeks progress nicely.
*Big werewolf hugs* Keep up the work!
For example at Burger King I used to be able to eat a double whopper and 2 cheeseburgers and fries and drink now I can just eat a whopper and maybe if I'm really hungry another burger. So I know all those years on those meds really screwed with me on weight / appetite. I still eat more than I should but I know its a matter of 'retraining' my body and mind and also eating healthier things.
Glad to hear though that without your meds you appetite has come down. I believe in you!
Although, I won't lie, I like you the way you are :3 *big bear hugs and belly rubs*
Looking forward to future updates. ^_^
