paradoxes can be perilous, but as long as hysteresis is avoided, may be a way of cheating light.
(at least that's my favorite mcguffin for doing so, that or that there really turns out to be no actual barrier.

things usually happen in different ways then popular preconceptions expect them to.
that's the main thing really. not everything becomes popular just because it can be done.
that's why a lot of things continue to look almost the same, even when they've come to be done completely differently.
