Well the Back to The Future fan in me is squeezing at the date purely because I enjoyed the movies. However it makes you wonder how close the predictions were to today from the 1989 flick.
True:
Holograms - okay so we don't have Holo-sharks flapping around, but we are already doing that to celebrities and other media.
Future Glasses - Okay, not a funky, but we already have Google Glass.
Flat Screen TVs - Dead on the money, it's a standard now.
Hoverboards - Okay maybe not exactly like it but we already go prototypes around.
Video Conferencing - Skype anyone?
3D TV - Not as mainstream but we got em!
Autolacing Sneakers - Well not commercial wide, Nike did try to make these for the coming date.
Drones - Okay it's not walking the dog or cleaning the house, but commercial drones are here.
Not so True:
Robotics - While we got some nice advancements we don't have anything that advanced. The most sophisticated robot most houses have is a Roomba.
Fax Machines - Seriously, who has one of these dinosaurs anymore? These days you're more likely to be fired by text message than a fax.
Flying Cars - Where's my leveraging DeLoren? Hell, I'll settle for my civic to do that!

Cubs win World Series - Up in the air, but gonna take a miracle if they do.
