Holy shit man, I live in Portland!

Just be prepared to deal with a stupid number of one-way streets and impatient drivers. You might want to have a GPS unit just in case. I frankly hate visiting Portland.

Love Portland, definitely one of my favorite cities. Lived in Oregon for 4 years!

You'll definitely need to stop by VooDoo Doughnut and try the Cock 'n Balls. Yes, that's a thing.

There's also plenty of furs in the region, but unfortunately they're also very drama prone. There is a decent group that remains relatively sane, though: http://www.meetup.com/RoseCityFur/

As a fellow gearhead, I also recommend checking out Portland International Raceway, and Sykart Indoor Racing, a nice 1/4 mile track with 40 mph karts.

Lloyd Center Mall has an ice skating rink right in the middle of the mall that's worth checking out.

For more shopping, drive a half hour or so south on I5 to the Woodbridge Company Stores, a huge spot with tons of outlet stores for various brands. There's also a dragstrip in Woodbridge, but I'm not sure if there's anything going on at this time of the year.

Also, one of the best parts of Oregon is NO SALES TAX! But you can't pump your own gas. Be ready for that.
