Gaming Streams / Opinion Piece

TL;DR - I don't watch games, I play games, but not against broadcast requests myself.
Okay, I've gotten enough questions about the topic about why I don't accept or watch gaming streams or let's plays, but gladly will let someone watch me game at any time. I've repeated my answer enough times that I'm just gonna post it here. May need to copy the link for future use ... >.>
Everyone's got their taste in media, some like to watch, others love to listen, some prefer to be active, some prefer to follow along. Gaming has evolved to let all of this happen through Lets Play and Gaming Streams, which when it first started happening, it made no sense to me, thought it was a fad that'll pass. Now we got Twitch, You Tube celebrities from streaming games, and now in built broadcasting in Steam.
Now to the point, I'm not a fan of it. I find it boring, no offense to those that do enjoy it, that's your cup of tea, but me, watching someone play just rises the itch in me to go play my own games. I never really understood the hype, so please, if you offer me a stream link, or ask I watch, don't get offended if I politely decline. It's just not a fun time to me.
That said, on the flip side I've been surprised on several accounts to be asked for a broadcast. This often happens in Steam only as I don't have any major streaming software save one package I used for a different reason. I was a little weirded out, but today I'll shrug and click the accept. Doesn't slow down y performance so what the hell? Steam is weird though as I have no idea how to set the comment box aside so I can see what folks are yammering about while I play. Granted, that audience has been as far as 5 tops.
That said, I've made my point. I'm a fur gamer that prefers to play games, rather than watch. If you wanna watch me, send a request on STEAM or nudge me, but please understand my reluctance to link up to a stream or video myself.
Thanks for understanding.
