Happy new year...

Hmm... well, as a few of you may have heard, I broke three metacarpal bones in my hand n New Year's day. The third, fourth and fifth metacarpals. My middle, ring and pinky fingers are all skeletally disconnected from my wrist. The significance comes when I tell you that this is in my right hand. Y'know ,the one I do everything with... except jerking off. At least I can still do that, unhindered, eh?
Right now, my hand is in a fiberglass splint, and the docs in the E.R. could not set the bones back into place. The fractures are all diagonal and relatively smooth, so that just wasn't happening. As a result, I'm off to reconstructive surgery this monday, January 8th, to get a few pieces of metal involved in the healing process.
After that, it's 4-8 weeks of being useless and physical therapy. Then on to an undetermined length of time being concerned about re-breaking those bones, given my propensity for harshly taxing my physical limits. Potential stress fractures are going to be a concern for the next year, at least.
All commissions, trades, and requests are going to be put on hold indefinitely. It will be some time before I return to "myself". Honestly, there is no one more broken up by this than I am (That's a joke. get it? HA!).
For anybody wondering on the background of this, my fist finally met something it could not break: subway advertisements. I hit it so hard that everyone in the noisy station for 200 yards turned their head. Something in me just snapped that day, ya know? (ha ha) I just cracked. (ho ho)
Yes, I walked into the E.R... No it does not hurt as much as you think... not as much as the bruises on my knuckles, anyway. More on the ER visit later, and maybe an OR story, too.

Ow. I tend to hit stuff when I get angry enough (keeps me for killing the person who made me angry). I dented a few walls at work (drywall backed with plywood) and busted my bedroom door. I also smashed my head on my desk or even a shopping cart over and over with full force. People might think I'm crazy but they have no idea how lucky they are. *flies away* ^^~@~^^
