I knew and decided about this before my EF trip which, I never got around to finish my journal for but that's another story. I am leaving America and moving back to Taiwan for family in early November, 11/9 to be exact. Right now we are looking at being over there about 2 years top and if it gets over 2 years....hope it won't be too much longer than that.
It has been amazing to meet furs from everywhere face to face and spent time with you all long or short, without you I would not have stayed in the fandom this long even for the interest itself. You all gave me so much joy and memory to keep over the years from cons and visits and interactions both online and in person, hope my presence had little positive impact to you. I should still able to stay in touch with people while oversea, just please understand I will shift a lot more attention to what's going on in Taiwan than in America for being there, if I ever seems to "ignore" you just poke me a couple more times from time to time.
So ever since I got back from EF I have been mentally battling over the fact I am moving away, ironically I was just back in Taiwan earlier this year for a week and it felt foreign to me, so moving back will definitely be a culture shock again just like when I first came to America, honestly not quite looking forward to it :P I may have disclosed more details to some friends in private but for the time being I'll simply put it as to handle some things in the family. Don't worry no one was hurt or ill, just something I have to take care of in person and all.
Work place was nice enough they said would let me go back once I come back to the states (if work will still be there at that point), and I moved almost all my stuffs back to my parents' last few weeks. Last week I felt it was finally safe for me to travel, I went up to DC/Baltimore area and visited Vignette Agri Ferian and Kinsasha, up to PA for Sparky and Blitz then Finnish and Kojac, if I have more time and will to drive further I'd go down to Atlanta to see folks as well but perhaps another time.
Fangcon will be my last US con for a little while, if you see me there remember to say hi :) If not well, I will see you guys in a couple of years <3

I will miss you dearly buddy, looking forward to watch you spin again!
*sits at the coast... and waits.*
I have two friends who'd be going EF next year from Taiwan, hope they will get to meet you too!
If they are interested in history/seeing the city i may be able to help. As for the rest, i ain't consider myself a big con goer nor i really can provide much information about the local fandom. :/
Though I just realized they have their own friends who may be helping them before EF as well, hooking you up with them was solely my own idea and if they are interested to meet up and food and seeing stuffs, I will gladly do so :3 !
Heck... if you have plans for JMoF..... *wink* *wink*
*flops and whines across the ocean from JMoF*
Ever since knowing I'd be leaving, I found it funny you thought you were leaving for your duty, and I end up being the one leaving and you stayed lol
all grown upa full time academic.I'll gladly take your well wishes, though – I might need them, since academia can be a capricious environment. Thanks!
I'd return your salute with something appropriately Taiwanese, but I don't know enough of your culture to know what that would be... You should teach me! :)
but sure, Taiwanese is the same just like Chinese for the most part, we use traditional complex way in writing and people in China use simplified style, yet the speaking part is completely the same besides different dialogs of course *insert ching chung languages here please* you can ehhh egg roll and fried rice and dragon dance in return too XD
Dragon dancing, eh? Man, that brings me back to my first Chinese New Year celebrations, in Vancouver, BC, in 2001. Those were some amazing lion dancers! I wish I could do that...
Oh wait, this an Internet chat! I can do anything I want! :D *lion dances happily between the asterisks*
:P
yeah go there whenever, I am sure people will enjoy your company :)
*hugs* I kinda am still free, we all are, we just have to go search for our freedom, like in the forests.
