MY BIRTHDAY AND VACATION

General
My birthday is October 28th, I usually take a vacation. This is my first vacation since coming home from the hospital. I don't work on my birthday. I'll call in dead before I work. This was not taking off for a doctor appointment, this was just relaxing and no real plans. I live in New York, because of this I like many New Yorkers don't take advantage of the attractions. We always think that we will go to this and that later. I always make it a habit to go to a museum.
I never been to the Guggenheim, the Whitney, or MOMA, I have been to them. I have been back to Brooklyn Museum and Natural History Museum which I have not been in years. It is great to see all of this attractions. I also do fun tourist things like the Intrepid or Madame Tussuad done as a haunted house. They had actors who stood like the wax figures. All of them were covered with sheets. You walk by and whisper "we going to get you."
I went to the Cloisters which is part of Metropolitan Museum, again if I went to Cloisters it left zero impression on me. It is a not a museum for kids. Many medieval art which wont impress kids. The Cloisters is located in a park. It has an air of tranquility to it. I kind of enjoy of visiting museums alone, if there is something I don't find it interesting I can move on.
I used the audio tore which also selections of music, which was fun to listen to. It was a wonderful day there. I think that the weather which was rainy and cold kept people away. The Cloisters was excellent and something fun to do.
There is a bus from Cloisters which is about 190th Street to 34th Street. The M4 bus is like a grand tour of Manhattan, if you do that remember to go the bathroom. It is a long trip.
Also on my birthday there was a special of the original Dracula with Bela Lugosi and the Spanish version of Dracula. Universal decided to use the set and props with a Spanish cast. The Bela Lugosi version would film during the day and the Spanish version would come in at night. Of the two the Spanish version was better, it had better pacing and plot holes where plugged. I still think that Dracula has to be played by someone either that has an appearance of regal bearer or power.
Christopher Lee had that stature, I joked that I would call him sir even if he was my dad. Bela Lugosi gave Dracula that regal presence of the count. Even when Renfield cuts his finger, Lugosi gives a performance that matches his character. Carlos Villar in the Spanish version is just looks kind of crazy. They were both interesting to see.
When I go out to eat I usual order food that I don't or can't make for myself. I would be called a Foodie, though I don't take pictures of my meals. My sister and I went to a restaurant that has an All You Can Eat Mussells. I love Mussells it was fun to do them. They had both the regular white wine sauce and a mustard sauce. I got my money's worth for that.
Film Forum for their film club showed the original Ghostbusters which I have not seen in a long time. What is interesting are the things in the movie, like the smoking. Sweet Jesus, everybody is smoking in this movie, I can't think of anybody who does not have a cigarette.
Sigourney Weaver character does not my luck with men, she has creepy and obsessive neighbor Rick Moranis. As she walks by, he seems to pop out and talk to her. She is also pursued by Bill Murray who is suppose to be a charming rogue. I don't know if it is my age or times we live in. Bill Murray's character is kind of a jerk, a college professor who hits on the female students. He comes off now as smug jack ass. I don't remember being repelled or finding him a jerk. Still the movie holds up.
It is funny and I forgot how funny Annie Potts was in this.
My sister gave me a really fun gift, I have the poster for Terror of Mechagodzilla. It is one of my favorites, my all time favorite is Destroy All Monsters. She got this poster framed and it looks wonderful in the frame. http://images.moviepostershop.com/m.....1020302423.jpg My sister asked if I like Mechagodzilla. I did not catch on and I only thought it was odd she was calling Mechagodzilla.
This is why I not helping the police solve crimes.
