Don't look for YCHs. If you want something tailored to your tastes, commission it instead or draw it yourself. You have the skills to do it!

I'm super bad at giving commission info though. And it never turns out how I see it in my head anyways.

Also, I am way too lazy to draw all my ideas.

So YCHs work for me because I know what it'll end up looking like already.

That's have I like in commissioning someone. I'm curious to see how my ideas will be interpreted in their mind and most of the time I do like their results. =)

I have little interest in YCH auctions but if I blindfolded ones or ones where the character is focusing more on their predicament. I'll poke you to take a look at it. Maybe the two of us will find something suitable to your tastes.

I honestly have a hard time finding good YCHs for female characters in general that aren't super submissive or 4th-wall breaking cheesecake/fanservice.

I've sometimes sketched out an idea before handing it off to an artist I'm commissioning. Helps get the idea across more clearly.

I don't really get YCHs. That said, especially in the furry community, the person being bound typically isn't directly the person paying for the piece. Some people really feel they are apart of their fursona and can jump that identity gap, but for many they don't get to be the person in those ropes/chains/whatever. Add those the people who don't want to be bound in the first place, but what to have someone bound, and you get a large audience that would prefur the viewer to be the one at benefit.

BDSM has grown quite a bit over the years, but it is still a fairly small and specific community. My girlfriend and I rather enjoy MANY forms of BDSM, and are always looking for new ways, places, and ideas. That said, some of my girlfriend's hard and soft limits make it virtually impossible for us to go to a lot of kink events. Even in a community heavily reliant on trust and openness, people have a hard time understanding another's perspective. This leads to a lot of least common denominator handling.

TL;DR: they are easier to sell that way.

I understand, yeah. It's just disappointing to me that I can rarely find YCHs that would have bondage without the character giving lovey-eyes to the fourth wall.

To be honest, I find bondage art much more appealing if the character doesn't look like they're focusing too much on anything, as a lack of focus in the eyes implies that they're concentrating on the feel of things.

Possible solution! If you find a bondage YCH that is close to your desired pose... request that the artist add a blindfold or something? ^^; that being suggested, i would still like to note that the pieces i have actually commissioned rank much higher on my list of personal favorites than the cookie cutter YCHs i may have taken part in in the past.

That can work, but I generally like to have the eyes showing. And as I've replied above, I'm really bad at giving direction for commissions, and while I wouldn't say I'm disappointed, generally, it's often fairly different from what I had pictured in my head. YCHs are nice because I can picture pretty accurately what it'll end up looking like.

For me the YCH's always have the sub looking too happy to be there.

That's also an issue. But if it's as inoffensive as possible, it's easier to sell.

Hm. How would a pose define itself as for the enjoyment of the character, then? Obviously, they shouldn't be in distress, but I'm not sure how to put it over that the bondage is for them rather than whoever tied them up.

Also, I was always under the impression that part of the thirll of a bondage YCH was that you didn't have complete control of the pose, but I guess that depends on the whether the buyer thinks that, too.

Simple: have them not looking straight at the viewer or another character.
