Halloween holds the record for being 'the only major holiday celebrated in the US that doesn't have some sort of deep, personal trauma associated with it that prevents me from enjoying it'. I was going to go out and do things and celebrate before the heavy seasonal depression sets in and I become an incorrigible grump.

And I spent the whole day in the hospital.
