"Watson, did you bring your revolver?"

So I found a good deal on some old Webley top-break revolvers. One in .455, and one in .45ACP. Chances are, my next firearm purchase is going to be a sweet old revolver.
While the consensus on what Dr. Watson's ubiquitous but never named "service revolver" seems to be an Adams Mrk.III, I've always had a love for the look of the Webley and Enfield revolvers from a slightly later period.
So even though a 1919 Webley isn't really accurate for a character set in 1880s London, I don't doubt that if I got myself a sensible tweed jacket and bowler hat (and maybe shaved my beard), I could make a pretty good John Watson MD.

Which reminds me, I got a Webley RIC "British Bulldog" revolver in the original .455 caliber for sale, if anyone's interested.
I think I'm still going to save up for the Webley VI first, but the RIC would be neat to have in anyone's collection.
