Fangcon journal/life stuff

It's been a hell of a long time since I last wrote a journal, and for that I apologize x.x Not too much furry stuff has been happening until this weekend, so I thought now would be the most pertinent time to actually write one of these things.
So, before I get into any con stuff, I should really mention some of the other things that have been going on in my life (which are partially why I'm not nearly as active on here anymore). I started college in August at WKU, and while I'm not at school for nearly as many hours, I sometimes have to study and spend way more time on homework out of school. So that coupled with my tendency to procrastinate on things means I'm barely keeping on track. Plus with the university, I have to do way more stuff on my own time, so i'm not home until 8 pm sometimes. Next year I'm definitely gonna cut back a bit so i can spend more time here and focus on other classes.
But college is definitely not all bad. I really am enjoying my math class, but I'm into that kinda of stuff. And I can definitely tell my German has improved in the past few months in my Business German class. The social part is wayyy different though. Everyone is a lot nicer in my opinion, but since there's barely any cliques, everyone is quiet as hell. It gets really awkward at times lol.
Also, I'm barely on Skype anymore, since a lot of the group chats I was in died out. I mostly use Steam now, since i only talk to a few people really regularly and play video games with them.
Okay! Anyhow, on to the main thing I actually wanted to reflect on. I was at Fangcon this past weekend
(I know I never mentioned I was going, just have been too lazy/busy to write a journal here earlier), but it was awesome!
Fixion and I got there around 8 pm on Friday, and we were mostly in the game room that night. There was a very long game of Cards against and Humanity that got pretty intense, even for me. It ended at like 2 am or something, so I was pretty beat and ready to sleep by then.
Saturday was the whole day that we spent at the con. I won't go totally into detail, but here are the highlights. I was able to talk to
Iiiix a bit more and all the BGfurs got better acquainted I suppose, which was great! Also got a few pics of fursuiters and parade stuff which i'll upload in a few days for sure! There were a ton of very good artists at the dealer's den this year, and I really wish I had brought more money with me to actually get something, but it was still great to see it all! One of the best things about the con though, was when I was able to rent a partial fursuit (he was called Aisling) from
BlasterBlurby and fursuit for a good 90 minutes. It's really hard to describe how it feels for the first time. A little hot, yeah, and I should've probably had contacts instead of glasses on, but it was so euphoric. It was really easy to change the way I acted, much to my surprise. I think I feel a lot more comfortable ordering a personal suit in the future now that I know what it's like a little bit. So many social boundaries that I had always thought existed were eliminated just like that! I got a lot of complements, which made me kinda blush under the fursuit head since I'm not used to hearing that kind of stuff >//> I honestly had no idea what I looked like until I saw some of the pictures later, so I was really amazed by it! It definitely has reinvigorated my desire to have a personal suit, so I'm going to try and take some steps to expedite that process. Other highlights would be the dance at the end of the day. That was really intense, so I was really in the zone there! After that, I hung out with some of my friends in their hotel room. It was definitely a good ending to the night!
Sunday I woke up a little bit later since I'd been going to bed late for the past week. Fixion and I had to check out around 11 am, but we did stay until like 7 pm. The day started off a bit slow, and we were playing in the game room until we went out to eat at like 2 pm. After that there were the closing ceremonies, which were pretty hilarious. I got some good pictures that day too, and a ton of footage from the fursuit games. We did leave a little later at like 7pm, but the trip back was smooth and we gained an hour.
One thing I didn't do during this con though was go to any panels. Apparently like every time I was in the game room or was out going to eat, there was something going on. I'm not upset about it, since that honestly just gives me another thing to look forward to for later. Another thing I needed to do more of was take some more photos/videos from the con. I'll be keeping that in mind for next time.
I did meet a few people, which was definitely nice! I've probably memorized a lot more badge names and faces than actual names though xD It'll still be handy for whatever con I'm going to head over to next.
I can say that I didn't have too much PCD, and that kinda surprised me. I got everything down that I absolutely wanted to do there, and that left me feeling a bit more optimistic and energized! I also immediately had to to get back to school work on Monday x.x, so I didn't really have time to think about missing the con or anything.
I guess the biggest adjustment I'm going to make to my future plans is that I'm going to try and look a lot harder for a job. I spent a lot of money on the weekend, but it was really worth it, and I want to do it more often!
I think that's about all I have to say atm. I'm probably going to upload some pics and *maybe* some videos if they're of decent enough quality. At any rate, I'll probably write another journal in a month or two describing my situation/thoughts/plans then.
TL;DR Fangcon was cool and I'm feeling pretty optimistic if busy.

Sounds like you had a great time at FangCon. Fursuiting is an incredible experience and it's addictive, too, so I'm glad you had the chance to do it. You can be whoever you want to be, and let your inhibitions down. I never dance or goof around too much in real life, but it just feels natural in suit!
I was really impressed by Fangcon. The whole week before I had a ton of stuff to do, so I was only getting excited about it the day before; and yet it was still an awesome experience! I really hope I can start saving up for the future suit this year and debut him relatively soon!
