Yeah my tiel has 5 right now as well. Spring time for us southern hemispherers! Cockatiels are such lovely birds, great to bond with them.

Loaches! I think that's what I see in there. I have catfish at the moment. Benthic fish are so much fun.

Oh you too? I am also obsessed with this hobby since the beginning of this year. My focus is not that much on fish, though, rather plants - ever heard of aquascaping?
Is that a gourami? I have two couples of them too - a Betta also, but in a different tank. Labyrinth fish are very interesting to watch since they act so different from other fish.

Btw, your tanks look so clean and free from algae. You rather have set them up just recently or are cleaning them very often and thorough. :)

Ive had them for a couple of months now. I have quite a number of algae eating fish like pleco and siamese algae eater. Been doing water changes every week. Maybe Im due for the horrors of algae blooms. Havent needed to deal with them yet. Still new to this hobby.

Ive heard of aquascaping, but I am rather terrible at it. My large tank im trying to do a southeast asian blackwater biotope, so all fish are from asia and the water is stained. In it I have three pearl gourami, nine kuhli loach, one siamese algae eater and twelve harlequin rasboras.

I find that the labyrinth fish are very inquisitive, much more interactive than the other fish I have. Really cute. I can hand feed them bloodworms and such.

Oh I see! Algae eating fish do quite a job, no? I'm having shrimp and snails for that task. I need more shrimp, though! Usually they would increase their numbers from breeding, but I guess the small baby shrimps will be eaten by the fish once they detach themself from the female shrimp. x) I hope that some survive and grow to non-fodder-status regardless.

I really like the design of the larger tank. It has such a warm atmosphere. I would recommend some more plants! Some easy ones like anubia or bucephalandra. You just have to attach them to the roots with some strings. Or what about some moss? I would recommend some more plants, but I have just seen that your soil is very low. Or is just looking that way?

My tank is based on a blackwater biotope, so minimal living plants. (Though I add some little grasses in because my loaches love to climb through them). Dominated by leaf litter, wood, and slightly acidic tea stained water.

Woah, your aquascaping is really impressive! Thats really cool. Love the 'bridge' of wood in your large tank. Love the bright colors of your betta too.

I'm glad you like it! :D Have to trimm down that moss a bit. It sorta exploded during the last few days. The beta is not in the nano tank anymore, though. He was bullying the small fish so I put him in his own 'vase'.
