You would think Price sheets would be General. If you want to make a fully Adult price list and have it attached via link in the description, fine. Otherwise just have a censored pic as a ref for Adult work on the main sheet

To be fair, some artists have NSFW accounts separate from their SFW accounts. I would expect their NSFW account to have a NSFW sheet. That's fine, totally makes sense to me. That just wasn't the case this time, so it seems silly.

depends. if the item being sold is 100% sfw then it would be silly to rate it mature. if it's something explicitly mature and they aren't willing to change the design(even if there are plenty of sfw articles i ntheir gallery) then the tag indicates that

I always try to keep mine SFW, When I sell something NSFW though I just link to it and mark it NSFW

Yes but that only blocks your access to that example, you can still view the commission info as a whole. But yes, it's up to the artist to choose both SFW and NSFW examples for each of their price ranges

What I mean is that I understand that people do adult pieces. I'm ok with that. That's the best thing about art. The artist get's to draw whatever they want to draw *even if they are commissioned XD* Even though I don't like it myself and don't want to look at it. Doesn't mean I'm going to condemn an artist because of that. Sadly I see way too many artist switch to doing XXX cause they get more cash and everything.

But still there are many artist that commission the same artist for that non adult stuff. It would make sense that they should at least make one for them. Otherwise it makes it seem like all they do is nothing but adult pieces.

Which is part of the reason I have "Standard/sfw," "Adult/nsfw," and "Specialty/varies" commission sheets, and only one of these is "hidden" behind a nsfw filter

My pet peeve is the fact that no matter how much information you put on a ref sheet, or helpful tips left in the description, 9 out of 10 commissioners will still ask "how much does that cost?" instead of adding it up themselves. Which makes me thankful for the 10th person who says "So, that should come up to $___, correct?"

Although I confess that sometimes I don't add it up myself because I don't know what category my piece will end up in. For example, some artists have a different price for simple backgrounds than for complex backgrounds ... but my commission might leave that open to artistic freedom, which means the cost will change based on the composition the artist comes up wtih. In those cases I usually say, "I am good for up to blah blah complex background, based on what you come up with."

Or they might have a different price for complex characters, but I'm giving them a choice of my characters, or maybe I specified one but I don't know if it counts as complex or not.

In a recent transaction, I bought /four/ slots, with all kinds of options for each slot. I then estimated the total price based on their pricing sheet. After all the choices were made and the dust settled, my estimation was DEAD ON. =)

Yeah, true, you brought up a couple things I forgot about. I like to determine backgrounds by including a simple background in the "sticker price" of commissions, and adding a small fee for a more complex background of their choice. So, if they don't know what kind of bg they want and leave it up to artistic freedom, and /I/ choose to give them something more detailed, it won't cost them any extra, and hopefully they'll be happy with it ^^

That's not a bad approach. Lets you follow your muse when she needs you to, without restraints. Hopefully your commissioners tip occasionally. ;)
