Anthrosis

Weird idea I had:
Anthrosis, an extremely rapidly spreading disease. Disease is infectious to both humans and animals. Is contracted when coming into contact with infected's blood, sweat, saliva, and/or most other body fluids. Disease turns victim into an animal with a bipedal skeleton. Infected animals remain the same species they were before infected, whilst humans have what appears to be random transformations, though some evidence suggests victim's own personality and traits can affect outcome. Usually increases or decrease victim's size to 3-7 feet tall, more common occurrences in infected animals. Also increases IQ of infected animals, though does not affect infected humans. After 1-3 days from receiving infection, victim transforms most commonly in 1-5 days, normally in comatose, however some victims do not go into a coma, which causes symptoms of extreme pain and/or temporary psychosis and has led to fatalities and suicides. Pre-transformation symptoms include fever, hyper-activeness, paleness, and hallucinations. Disease is spreading at a rampant rate in third world countries, though extreme measures in first world nations have been taken to avoid spread. However, there are individuals that seek infection, as well as extremist groups attempting to spread disease in mass numbers.
6 months later, a massive war between furries and human puritans. :P
