I was wondering about the conditions of the order. I had assumed it was from multiple sources and not one big order all in one shot. That sounds like production timing would've become an issue as well since you're not set up for line production of something like that. Probably for the best that it didn't work out as I know too many folks that take an order like that and end up with hardcore burnout after trying to keep up with it.

They didn't need them until February, so I would have had enough time to do it. I would have hella been DONE with hats by the end of it yeah, but it would've meant at least $3,000.

Yeah, the burnout would have been horrendous if you actually had taken on that. I mean, the money would have been rather nice, but at the cost of your well being? It probably is for the best that it fell through. Other good, and better, opportunities will come your way =3

I'm not saying this in the sense of quitting all together. Its a matter of choosing your battles and taking into consideration everything else you have to do outside of that work, including other standing commissions, school, and daily life necessities like eat, sleep, and errands. If you wanna take on as many jobs as you can to make money, go for it, but just be careful what jobs you accept and know your limits. Making work outta something you love can be a slippery slope and make you hate what you love. But that's just my thoughts on it, take it or leave it.

Yikes, if that's too much while you're doing them for half-price. All that time you would have needed to make each individual hat would not have been worth it. x.x
Getting the materials and the LARGE amount of time you're going to be spending working of them. You would just barely make even given the time spent.

Yep, exactly. I would have been making less than minimum wage for my labor, PLUS having to shell out for materials.
