Your Thoughts On: Constructive Criticism (UPDATE)

From Chris: I think I've gained enough of a 'feel' in regards to this, so:
Going forward:
If you have noted this group (or are going to note the group) with a recipe, I will note you back as to whether you are open to critique or not.
I'll also add, I will ask if this should / will be a 'permanent decision' - that is, on your end, if you want to have "Open For Critique / Constructive Criticism" for every submission that you send to us, I will put it there so at least that way, I don't have to ask every single time for the chef's blessing.
The same will hold true if you do not want your dish to be critiqued, at all.
For something like that I will just disable comments for the intended submission.
Please let me know ahead of time what you would prefer!

I got some recently, was like some slaps in the face, but the critique was damn helpful.
SO just having an open mind for this would be helpful for everyone :)
I'd be open to constructive criticism on any recipe I submit so long as I can be assured that unhelpful and/or mean criticism would be dealt with when it occurs.
And Vrghr is permanently open to suggestions and constructive critique!
if you're putting something out into the world, thats it, you let it go, and it becomes the worlds, its someones right to down right insult it if they don't like it. this wishy washy "complements only" or constructive criticism only thing seems so backwards to me. I just don't understand why that hurts people so much, when that passion can be directed into making your creations better.
if you don't want people commenting on your creations, good or bad, then why are you posting them on the internet? you want attention, you gamble at getting the negative kind as well, simple as that.
But done :P
