So, here's a spot of advice... never... and I do mean NEVER... listen to the NoSleep Podcast before falling asleep. I think I would have figured it out in the name of the damned thing, but apparently wisdom went out the door last night Half-woke up just in time to hear some unholy ~thing~ muttering a foot away from my head. Serious props to the sound man... 'cause that scared the living $#%^ outta me. Didn't help that I'd just watched the free sampler of Ash vs Evil Dead - Hilarious!!!
Otherwise than some major nightmares - yay for box-knives - I did wake up inspired. So, bonus? Of course, that semi-sucks because now I want to write horror...rather than my NaNo project.
Do you guys get fits of inspiration... only to be in the middle of something else, so you can't take advantage of it?

It's hard to stay focused with writing.
Oh, and in the note of unholy things creeping around at night... NEVER play Alien: "Isolation with a good headset before bed. The sound design is specifically made to make people crap themselves, and I'm convinced whoever was in charge of the sound studio is a sadist, haha.
I haven't tried that one yet, but I've heard good things. The best one I've played was Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth ... not only is there crap hunting you (and you can hear it shuffling, dragging, muttering, etc)... you slowly go insane, so you'll hear things or gibber to yourself.
I've never heard of that one before. I swear, you always find the most interesting things to test out. I need to expand my horizons beyond casual shooters, RPGs, and racing games. I should also start learning more about computer gaming and invest in getting a computer just for it.
As far as writing, I strike when the iron is hot. Work on what's good rather than an arbitrary project.
