This is both releiving difficult for me to share
10 years ago
Hi, guys. If you have a second, I would appreciate you reading this. I never really like to share anything deeply personal on here, but I think it's important.
I've been doing a lot of thinking lately, and after a few doctor's visits it's been made clear to me that I have a classic case of depression. During my most recent session, I discussed with him my mechanisms of coping, and as my "episodes" become more frequent, how I've been able to keep my grip on myself emotionally.
It became apparent that there were two primary aspects of my life that keep me moving.
First and foremost is my family and friends. I've surrounded myself with people who I genuinely care about, and care about me in return. My best friend Kevin and his family have been like a second family to me when I didn't want to be home. They always welcomed me with open arms, and a seat at the dinner table. Just as important is my long time girlfriend Tatum (Who you guys might know as Oli). She's supported me when I've had doubt, picked me up when I'm weak, and held me when I've cried. I'm grateful every day for the support that other people have provided that's kept me going.
I think the other thing that has really kept me moving is the opportunity to make other people happy. It truly makes me feel good to spread joy to people. To let people know that they matter. I just wanted to thank you guys for giving me that purpose. Without other people, I don't think I would be in the position I am now where I am motivated to create things, and move forward.
As I type this with a restless leg, and watery eyes, I just wanted to say thank you.
I hope all of you find your purpose in life, and that the purpose you choose will have a positive impact on others.

Alex, you're one incredible person! The moment I've met you via Tumblr with your amazing blog, brightened my day. Making me look every single day to see if you had new posts since they always brought a smile to my face. At some point I even got to talk to you in a chat with lovely others, which honestly, is something I'd never forget! You're one amazing guy Alex! One that I always shall remember for his incredible kindness and lovely attitude that brought others a smile.
I really hope I can help you in some way <3 If there is any way, do tell me, as your messages always make me so happy as soon as they are made on my posts of page! Feel deeply hugged from me and Akumu!
Take care Alex as I wish you the best in everything <3 *sends lots of hugs from Holland*
I am a performer, (acting, singing, dancing, cosplaying) and my dream is simple to help bring a smile to someone's face. One of my favorite shows of all time, "Man of La Mancha", has a song that has been a motto in my life, dream the impossible dream. No matter what challenges you overcome, do not stop reaching for that unreachable star. So if you ever have the time, this goes out not just to Ace, but everyone here, listen to the words of "The Impossible Dream" and maybe you can find the driving force I found in it's powerful message.
Also the odds are improving we'll meet in April for the race weekend.
