What's in a number?
I've seen a lot of posts lately from furs turning 30 or about to turn 30 and feeling "old" and that they qualify as graymuzzles now.
Personally, I think 30 is too young to be a graymuzzle. I feel you need at least a little "snow on the roof" or hair loss to qualify for that nickname. At least wait until you're 40 before you take on the nickname.
Your party days are not over. You may be a little wiser (I hope) about life, a little more sensible in the decisions you make, take responsibility for your actions and suddenly take life a little more seriously. That doesn't mean you can't have fun anymore. And it should not be an excuse to become a couch potato.
So don't worry about turning 30. Don't even worry about when 40 or 50 come along. Everything still works at those ages. I do mean everything! You're just better at it than when you turned 30.
56 seemed to be the magic number for me - Something about leaving 55 behind kinda hit me. 2/3 of my life has passed, and now I wonder about 60 and if my body will suddenly fall apart. Hopefully not explosively!
At least everything still works, I can still tell the difference between whether its a fart or not, and I still get zits on my face.
I'm actually looking forward to 62. I should be able to afford to retire then and have more time for fursuiting.

Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth.
Never give up, never surrender!
I might have a few grey hairs on my head in my 40's, but I don't have grey hairs in my beard :D
Grey muzzle when I first heard it used was really aimed at 50+
There's a grey muzzle fur group on Facebook, and the minimum age to be a part of it is 30.
What's interesting is I did an event with a bunch of college mascots recently. They kept asking me to slow down because they couldn't keep up with me..
I get a little aggravated when I'm told "You're too old", or asked "what my intent is" by a parent when I'm picking up their 20-something year old daughter just to go hang out.
We've earned that title. So shall they!
I honestly do feel that way, too. Once you've been around for half a century, it's like a badge of honor. "I've survived this long"
BECAUSE I'M BLOODY DESPERATE!!!!!!
I LOVE you Greys And, I feel so much more comfortable being around people older than myself! I've always loved the older things like jazz music, ballroom dancing and older architecture! I also think I have what they call an 'old soul', as I often ponder about things both about the past and the future. I even did this in Primary School.
But, I'm only 21 as of this day, and I don't think I can wait some 19 years before I can call myself a grey and officially join your gang
So, for the sake of my own sanity, I'm going to think of 30 as being the turning point of becoming a greymuzzle. I can wait another 9 years. 19 is going to drive me nuts, ha ha
And sometimes we throw it to the wind, act like silly youngsters and do something totally radical that logic says we shouldn't be doing.
As for the rest of it, it's all in your head!
And as for you, it's all in YOUR head!
(Gosh, I think we could take this rant over to notes, rather than clog up your comments, ha ha )
I had fun when I turned 30. Turning 40 didn't faze me at all. I've got some silver in my hair, but that's okay. I still have hair that can turn grey. I work with some people younger than me who have already lost their hair.
No matter what your age is, you've got to find a way to have some fun. To quote the great philosopher Bugs Bunny, "like the man says, don't take life to seriously. You'll never get out of it alive!"
