There's things I like about it and things I hate about it.

Rafiki: Just. ALL of him. He's gone from wise shaman to... absolute useless FLAKE.
Animation: I'm willing to forgive the stiff legs because Disney just needs more practice with Flash. That being said, I don't understand why Flash is being used in the first place.
Lack of Kovu: =.=

Bunga's "Plan": DO NOT DO THAT AGAIN. Pumba has the fart jokes. We DO NOT NEED MORE.

Kion: Absolutely adorable in every way.
Kiara: Actually more tolerable now that she has a fucking personality, but this all begs the question- WHY WAS SHE SO HELPLESS AS A HUNTER IN HER FIRST ADULT YEAR IF SHE'S ALREADY TEACHING TIIFU WITHOUT ANY HELP FROM ONE OF THE MANY MANY MANY OLDER, MORE EXPERIENCED LIONESSES?!?! I could go into a doctoral dissertation about them, but in the end, they should have gone for the 90 minute, two parter, made for TV movie to set everything up better. Plus, they really could have used a review of the script. There's a whole song about a night assault, and then they do it in the middle of the afternoon.

Oh yeah, that was rather irksome. But I've just chocked it up to Disney not actually giving two shits about this franchise in general.

They haven't given a crap for a while. Honestly, TLK2 could have easily been better with a simple script re-write nicking Scar out of the picture entirely and just making the entire Outlander pride a separate pride entirely. TLK.5 was just a cash grab full of fart jokes. There are fan fics that are better than the scripts they've been producing lately. Hell, there's furry erotica that's better written.

Got that right. Throw a dead hyena out in deviantArt and you'll land on a TLK fanfic that's better than TLK2. And EVERYTHING is better than .5.

Why does it have to be a dead hyena? Just look up TLK on any art and story site and you'll find better written stuff.

Wasn't going to put in my input being a mod... but because someone said it, I feel obligated to say this was every thing I said about the movie too... This exactly. With one exception. They went out of their way to make references to the original, which is fine to a point but they made it seem like blatant rip offs... Also i am not a fan of a "magical mark" but it's a kids film so I'll let it slide... those clouds though.

I got all tingly with the clouds, to be perfectly honest. And I mean, Mufasa has a cloud thing in the original, sooooo not TOO far of a stretch, really. :/

I wanted to punch Rafiki, though. So many "IT IS TIME"s! We f*cking GET IT. He only said it twice in the original and the second time, he was just referencing back to himself. >.<

it's made in flash? guess that would explain the strange jumps in draw quality(instead of flowing seamlessly some areas looked different)

Yeah, my guess is Disney is trying to mimic Hasbro's new MLP. They have a while to go before they're on par with them. :/

I don't like MLP, but I can see where some of the elements were imitated. it was the things that were more similar to the original that seemed somehow more fluid, and the other stuff seemed tossed in just to have it.

You have probably spoke for everyone who saw the movie.
For me, the worst thing were the shitty animations. Simba's walk looked so odd.
But it was great overall, new TLK content

Someone else in another journal described it perfectly- he looked like he was "floating". But, again, that just comes with being new to Flash. That's something that will get better with time, so I'm not hung up on it.

Yeah, at this point, TLK content is TLK content. Disney actually paying attention to its highest grossing and most popular traditionally animated movie in and of itself is miracle. -.-;
