"Fur-One-One: 'FA' Edition" #5

COMIC BOOKS: Over thirty years ago, I was reintroduced to the world of anthropomorphic characters via a series of independent comic book titles (including "Albedo", "Critters", and "Omaha the Cat Dancer", to name but a few). Today, there are a lot more independent titles to choose from. They include "Elephantmen", "The Mice Templar" (both from Image), "Mouse Guard (Archaia), "Kung Fu Panda) (Titan Publishing), and - the perennial favorite - "Usagi Yojimbo" (Dark Horse)... One of the newer titles worth looking into is "Wild's End: The Enemy Within" (Boom Studios, 3.99 US), a six-part miniseries set in wartime Europe. An alien invasion is involved in the plot, but not necessarily the sort of aliens in war uniforms. The menagerie in the cast include a pair of sci-fi authors - 'Runciman' (a fat cat) and 'Cornfelt' (a foppish canine) - who get caught up in this unusual fracas. Check it out...
WEBCOMICS: Here's a list of my ten favorite anthropomorphic webcomics (along with the frequency they each appear on the Internet, and the link you can visit each one at):

"Doc Rat" (Monday thru Friday): www.docrat.com.au
"Housepets!" (M-W-F): www.housepetscomic.com
"Faux Pas" (M-W-F): www.ozfoxes.com/fauxpas.htm

"Boomer Express (infrequently): www.boomerexpress.com
"Gene Catlow" (M-W-F, plus a Saturday bonus): http://www.genecatlow.com
Needless to say, I'm sure that some of you "FA" members might have other favorite webcomics that might differ from the ones on my list. Feel free to point them out (and their respective links) in the 'Comment' section...

FA+

I personally follow most of the rest of these. I hadn't heard of Bridgette's Belly or Boomer Express. The Carspeckens claim Faux Pas is Monday, Wednesday and Friday, but experience shows me it's more like Tuesday and Friday.
I can also recommend Phoebe And Her Unicorn, (7 days/week, formerly "Heavenly Nostrils"), Precocious, (7 days/week), Two Kinds, (Sunday & Thursday), Dan & Mabs Furry Adventure, (Monday & Friday), Sandra & Woo, (Monday & Thursday), Carry On, (Monday, Wednesday & Friday), Newshounds, (Monday), Zoophobia, (Friday), Cats & Cameras, (supposedly Saturday, but often a day late), and Curtailed, (Sunday), as well as Cat Nine, (doesn't say when it posts, I check it Fridays), and Woods For The Trees, (which posts just plain irregularly, I also check it Fridays.) Oh, and the artist who posts "Woods For The Trees" is also responsible for Transmission, (which is currently on hiatus until January.)
EDIT -- for consistency and an incorrect link
Of the additional comics you'd listed, I also like to check out "Precocius", "Sandra & Woo", and "Newshounds" (the latter of which I didn't know was still running).
In a future journal, I'll provide a list of my ten favorite syndicated comic strips with talking animal characters (such as "Mutts" and "Over The Hedge")....
As I said though, the weird thing is that I don't know why Kevin & Kell irritates me, I can't find any reason why it would, but it does! It's weird!
