Emergency Vet Visit

General
I'm at the vet now - waiting for the doctor to come back.
Elly got bit on the back by a much larger dog, bad enough that a vet visit was imperative.
She's partially bald now, and will need antibiotics and compresses for a while, probably, but she should be OK.
I've been through some scary things, and seen some nasty stuff...but when you bring your dog to the vet with blood on her fur and see her carried into the back room by a stranger...it's tough.
She'll be fine, I'm sure, and the wounds are a lot smaller than my parental worries make them. But she's my baby. I can't help getting a bit choked up.

It's just the one major puncture, but it cavitated and is at a high risk for infection. I'll need to be good about keeping her on her meds until it fully heals.
I met the owner of the other dog today after work and she paid the full amount of the vet bill - plus some extra - via check. I'll be cashing it tomorrow, and if it bounces, I'll be reviewing my legal options.
She's doing very well so far. She'll be on meds for a while, and will likely be sore for longer than that, but she's already showing her normal playful self. I'm hoping that the experience won't leave any lasting scars beyond the physical ones.
