Salaam everyone, I try to keep this page politically neutral but I have to say, I'm impressed with Canada's new Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau for being hospitable and welcoming to the Syrian refugees(even welcoming the first group in person) while so much hate is spattered against them by some politicians in the US and Europe despite the super majority of them just want to live really, they'll be evil forces on both ends wanting the innocent to blamed for the sins of the few but despite being misanthropic sometimes people will do good in the end.

Further, it's symbolic that Canada greets the Syrian refugees with the traditional Islamic song "Tala al Badru Alayna" which was sung when Muhammad and his follows did the Hijra from Mecca to Medina. Muhammad and his followers came to Medina as refugees fleeing persecution and possibly death, to be welcomed by the people of the Medina, so I think it was definitely a good choice.
