Copy and pasted from my facebook status i managed to write earlier.

Today, at around 4am, Shane and Myself both lost a piece of out hearts when our dog Zelda unexpectedly passed away.

She was 14 months old. 
It was a very sudden death, she woke us up in her kennel in the middle of the night yelping, and by the time we got her out, she was gone.
The emergency veterenarian said it was likely a blood clot, or some other heart related issue, that at her age is extremely rare but not unheard-of. 
There was no way it could have been prevented, and no way we could have helped her once it happened to her.

We're both taking it very hard. She was my puppy. She was Shane's best friend. 
We will have to learn to let her go and to remember how to live without her being around. 
Her life was tragically short, but hopefully she had a wonderful ride.

It's going to be hard to truly understand this is really happeneing, but i know we'll pull through it.
