Saying goodbye

So today I said goodbye to one of my lizards, Sid.
I was no longer in a place I could care for her and she becoming too much of a handful for me.
I knew this was coming and I've been preparing myself for months now, but I'm still kinda sad.
I'd had her since junior year and she was the first animal I'd gotten on my own.
I know she's going to someone who will take great care of her, but I'm still going to miss her.
Anyone else ever have an experience like this?
Any advice on how to deal with it?
